The Hall’s Annual General Meeting will take place on May 29th at the Village Hall, and members of the public are welcome to attend from 9am for tea and biscuits with the AGM starting at 9.30am, followed by a committee meeting. If you would like to attend, please email our Secretary before 15th May, at as places are limited.

We’re delighted to report that after many months of closure, the first step towards re-opening our doors and getting back to normal was scheduled to take place on Wednesday April 14th with the first event being the weekly village market. Of course, all events  until June 21st will be run according to Covid-19 rules, including social distancing, the wearing of masks etc.

The next milestone is May 17th, from when indoor events can take place but at reduced capacity. The Main Hall will accommodate up to 30 people seated, and the Club Room, 20 people seated. On June 21st, these remaining restrictions will be removed with clubs and societies allowed to meet and we can even have a dance! And no masks necessary and no social distancing! But the test and trace system will still be operating so records of attendance will be required. (These dates are all, of course, subject to confirmation nearer the time).

A popular event already scheduled is the return of the Film Club, which is due to show Military Wives on July 16th.

As part of the Hall’s ongoing maintenance programme, we have a new flat roof on the Club Room and the boiler room.

As a post Covid effort and way to refresh our noticeboards, hirers have been invited to provide new posters to display in the boxes outside the hall. Do let us know if you like the new posters and if they inspire you to try some of the many activities going on at the Hall.
